Meet the Candidates for Lancaster County Commonwealth Attorney
Rappahannock Indivisible—We the People will host the three candidates for Lancaster County Commonwealth Attorney on Wednesday, September 18, beginning 7:00 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the Rappahannock, 366 James Wharf Road in White Stone.
The focus of the meeting will be on the candidates’ views on the Commonwealth Attorney role and responsibilities.
Scheduled to attend are Margaret “Maggie” Ransone, former assistant Commonwealth Attorney in Lancaster County and currently an Assistant Commonwealth Attorney in Henrico County; the incumbent, Jan Smith; and Anthony “Tony” Spencer, former prosecutor and Commonwealth Attorney from Caroline County. Ransone and Smith are running as independents; Spencer is running as a Republican.
“We’re pleased to host this opportunity for each of the three candidates to present their thoughts and visions for an effective, fair, and just criminal justice system,” said Rappahannock Indivisible chair Diana Jamison.
