Discussion of the Needs of Virginia's Fourth District
Rappahannock Indivisible—We the People will hold its July open meeting on Wednesday, July 17th, at 7 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the Rappahannock, 366 James Wharf Road in White Stone. The meeting continues the group’s focus on issues important to the community and on encouraging registration and voting in the 2019 state-wide elections.For the July meeting, Rappahannock Indivisible invited candidates for Virginia’s Fourth Congressional District to speak. Stan Scott, Democratic candidate, has accepted the invitation. To this date, incumbent Ryan McDougle has not responded to repeated invitations.The meeting will hear presentations from the candidate or candidates, followed by questions from the Rappahannock Indivisible steering committee and from attendees. Any topic relevant to the office of State Senator will be an acceptable question.Scott, a retired Army combat veteran and businessman, lives in Mechanicsville. Following his military service in Germany and in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Scott retired from the military and earned degrees in political science and public policy. He’s currently working on his doctoral dissertation on international relations at George Washington University. He formed Crux Analytics, a management consulting firm, in 2012.No biographical information has been received from Senator McDougle.
