Rappahannock Indivisible Supports Moms of Stoneman Douglas High School's "Shop In"
Some moms at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School want you to shop at Dick’s Sporting Goods and Walmart on the day before Mother’s Day.
It’s their way of thanking the retailers for their policy changes on gun sales after the shooting massacre at the Parkland High School.

The mothers have organized a nationwide “Shop In” on May 12, urging supporters on social media to shop for anything, even summer camp supplies for siblings, “to turn this weekend into a positive one.”
“The moms and wives were talking about this day being difficult for us, and we wanted to find a way to focus on something else and pay it forward,” said April Schentrup. Her daughter Carmen Schentrup, a senior, was among 17 staff and students killed on Feb. 14.Carmen’s funeral was held the day before her 17th birthday.
